The attractive resort of Dawlish Warren in South Devon is once again the base for this fine late summer, with a host of new
attractions for 2021. Explore some most attractive coastline, rolling landscapes, fine historic towns and picture postcard
villages. Enjoy a nostalgic steam train journey along the coast and down to Kingswear where we take the ferry across the
River Dart to delightful Dartmouth. Take a scenic drive through the charming Quantock Hills to the lovely Somerset resort
of Minehead returning back to Bishops Lydeard by steam train. Explore historic Totnes and Dorchester and meet the
“residents” at the Donkey Sanctuary at Branscombe and the black swans of Dawlish!

Itinerary
Monday – Kent to Dawlish Warren halting for lunch at the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton. Mid afternoon arrival – plenty of
time to relax and explore before dinner.
Tuesday –Full day scenic tour of the delightful Quantock Hills travelling by coach to Minehead with a coffee halt at Blackdown
Garden Centre. Enjoy a stroll beside the sea before gentle steam train ride through the hills to Bishops Lydeard on the West
Somerset Railway – Britain’s longest heritage steam railway.
Wednesday– Morning drive around Torbay to Paignton to join the steam train for a journey along the coast then down the River
Dart to Kingswear where we join the ferry across to Dartmouth. Plenty of time to explore before the ferry and train journey back to
Paignton where our coach will be waiting for us.
Thursday–Morning visit to the fine historic town of Totnes. Enjoy an afternoon in the resort of Dawlish famous for its pretty
gardens and famous black swans !
Friday - Homeward journey along the fascinating Jurassic coast with a coffee halt at the famous Donkey Sanctuary at
Branscombe and a lunch break in Dorchester.
